This species is widespread and thrives in very moist conditions.
Morphological Features
Grows effectively on general fungal media, producing small colonies in white or pale pink to salmon shades. Colonies tend to be membranous or thin.
Potential as an Opportunistic Pathogen
Associated with mycetoma, keratitis, and onychomycosis. Other rare infections have been reported, particularly in immunocompromised individuals or those with wound injuries.
